Chatchavej is a partner in the corporate and commercial department having joined Siam Premier in 1999. Chatchavej has diverse commercial expertise which includes project finance, corporate and commercial matters, foreign investment, property, mergers and acquisitions. Chatchavej also provides regulatory advice. Chatchavej worked with Allens Arthur Robinson in its Sydney office on secondment and is experiences in multi-national transactions. His clients range from large consulting firms to multinationals and also include Thailand’s leading corporations and government agencies. Chatchavej includes the following among his clients: The Ministry of Finance, Thailand, Macquarie Global Property Advisors, Prudential Plc, Aceina, QBE, Direct Asia, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, The Stock Exchange of Thailand, Apple Inc., Deere Company (John Deere), Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Marubeni Corporation, and Boeing International.

Corporate and M&A

The corporate and M&A department at Siam Premier International Law Office Limited is the firm's largest, comprising partners and associates with substantial experience in corporate and commercial transactions, FDI, joint ventures and corporate restructurings. It has a proven track record in domestic M&A, and also serves as Thai counsel in multi-jurisdictional transactions. In a recent example, Chatchavej Chitvarakorn and Kanokon Worachanyawong acted as local counsel to a Swedish company on the acquisition of a 49% stake in a Thai med-tech company. The department's regular clients also rely on it for day-to-day corporate and commercial advice; Bancha Wudhiprecha, for example, advises a retail company on corporate matters and various commercial issues such as licensing and permitting. In other ongoing work, Wudhiprecha is acting for a media company in connection with the potential acquisition of a 20% stake in a Thai listed company. Linda Osathaworanan is another leading practitioner in the team and is regularly instructed by domestic and multinational companies.

The busy and buoyant real estate practice at Siam Premier International Law Office Limited is led by experienced partner Chatchavej Chitvarakorn. Much of the team's work in recent years has focused on real estate acquisitions and projects in Bangkok's central business district, and Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC)-related land acquisitions. In addition, it has maintained its active market share for hotel and tourism-related real estate developments. A multi-disciplinary team of corporate, M&A and real estate lawyers assisted Japan's Mitsui Fudosan with the due diligence for land acquisition for the development of nine condiminium projects. The team also acts for a number of large Thai companies; for one of the country's largest conglomerates, it advised on potential share acquisitions in two hotels. Senior associate Ajjima Kanokmaneechotikul plays key roles on the department's major transactions, where her background in banking and finance is of benefit. Special counsel Sawat Sangkavisit is another name to note.

Utilising the experience of the firm's litigation, corporate and finance lawyers, Siam Premier International Law Office Limited has established a solid restructuring and insolvency practice. Its client base is diverse, spanning creditors, debtors, administrators and liquidators. In 2017 and 2018, corporate partner Linda Osathaworanan and litigator Noppramart Thammateeradaycho acted for a US-based client in filing a bankruptcy case against a Thai company. Elsewhere, Chatchavej Chitvarakorn advised a multinational company on the bankruptcy proceedings of a joint venture partner. The firm also advises on distressed M&A transactions. Bancha Wudhiprecha and Phasunsook Ayanaputra are the practice co-heads.
