Aloysius specialises in banking and finance. He has advised financial institutions as well as corporate borrowers, business trusts and private equity firms on domestic and cross-border finance transactions. He has experience advising on bilateral and syndicated loans, real estate financing, leveraged acquisition financing, takeover financing and project financing transactions. Aloysius has advised banks and sponsors on project financings, including public-private partnership projects in Singapore.

Aloysius has also advised on a number of high-profile Islamic financing transactions in Singapore. He has advised on bilateral and syndicated commodity murabaha financings and sukuk issuances. He was involved in the issuance of the world’s first sukuk to be convertible into units in a  real estate investment trust.

He was called to the Singapore Bar in 2010 when he joined Allen & Gledhill.

Aloysius graduated with an LLB (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore and a BSc (Economics and Management) (first class honours) degree from the University of London.

Allen & Gledhill LLP continues to operate at the forefront of real estate finance; recent work has involved loans to REITs, real estate developers and other real estate players. The firm is also strong in PPP financings and bilateral and syndicated loans. The practice's client base has typically skewed towards banks, though instruction from non-bank lender and borrower clients has grown. It advised CapitaLand Commercial Trust on the S$1.42bn financing of its acquisition of Asia Square Tower. Kok Chee Wai is 'commercially savvy enough to make sure his clients' interests are protected'.
