Position

Partner in the firm’s commerce and technology group specialising in: general commercial contracts, including supply, agency, distribution, franchising and co-operation agreements; intellectual property, advising on the existence and the exploitation of intellectual property rights, including assignments and licensing of patents, know-how, copyright and trade marks; IT, including system supply, software licences, facilities maintenance and outsourcing agreements; e-commerce, including website development and management agreements, website terms and conditions, framing, linking and content supply agreements, ASP agreements and partnering arrangements; pharmaceutical, including licensing, R&D and clinical trials agreements. Leading member of the firm’s TMT and pharmaceutical groups. Wide range of clients, mainly in technology sectors (particularly IT, e-commerce and pharmaceuticals) but also in sectors such as hotels, interior design and furniture.

Trained SJ Berwin; qualified 1989; partner 1997; former editor of firm’s ‘Pharmaceutical Update’; editor of firm’s e-commerce newsletter ‘StrICTly Legal’; co-author of Tolleys’ ‘E-Contracts’ (2001). Regular writer and lecturer in all the above areas.
