Personal Injury: Abuse Law

Kim is a Principal Lawyer who specialises in abuse law. She is also the National Co-ordinator for Human Rights at Slater and Gordon. She acts for survivors of abuse (both adults and children) in cases against the Catholic and Anglican church, scouts, schools, hospitals, sports clubs and associations and local authorities.  A particular area of specialism within her abuse work is the technically complex area of ‘failure to remove’ litigation, where she is frequently instructed by the Official Solicitor in cases against Local Authorities for failing to protect children from harm.  Her human rights specialisms centre on representing bereaved families at Article 2 Inquests and associated Human Rights Act ‘Right to Life’ claims, as well as incorporating into relevant abuse cases human rights claims based around Article 3 (right not to be subjected to inhuman and degrading treatment) and Article 8 (right to private and family life).

Kim regularly appears on media and TV in relation to her cases and also abuse law and practice in general.

Kim trained at Pannone Solicitors, qualified in 2005 and became a Partner in 2010. She became a Principal Lawyer at Slater and Gordon in 2014.

Kim is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), and is APIL accredited as an occupational and asbestos disease specialist and Senior Litigator.
