Criminal and misconduct.


Tom is a criminal lawyer and Practice Group Leader for the Criminal and Misconduct Department in the North.  Supervising teams based in Leeds and Manchester, he is predominantly instructed by the Police Federation and regularly acts for officers charged with serious criminal offences and in proceedings under the Police conduct Regulations.  Tom has extensive experience in advising officers in the aftermath of Police pursuits, shootings and deaths in custody, and regularly lectures on Post Incident Procedures for the Police Federation and Police Firearms Officers Association.  Tom also has considerable experience acting for officers in relation to the inquest and criminal investigations arising from the Hillsborough stadium disaster.


Joined Russell Jones and Walker (now Slater and Gordon) in 2004.  Currently Head of the Criminal and Misconduct team at Slater and Gordon in Manchester and Leeds.
