Position

Partner specialising in clinical negligence; considerable experience of all types of claims against GPs, NHS trusts and private doctors, including serious brain injuries and brain haemorrhage cases, birth injuries and cerebral palsy, anaesthetic awareness, the delayed diagnosis of cancer of various types (including melanoma, adenocarcinoma, lung and breast cancer), orthopaedic injuries, mistakes leading to amputations, errors in surgery and radiology. He is increasingly specialising in high-value and complex claims where medical accidents have caused death or disability, particularly cases involving the delayed diagnosis of cancer, amputation and brain injuries. Recent notable successes include an award equivalent to £4.8m including periodical payments of £110,000 for a client who suffered a brain injury after medical neglect and an award of £850,000 for a client who suffered a below-knee amputation after a mismanaged infection. Paul has published a number of articles and his cases receive widespread coverage in the press.
