Pitmans promotes two Partners

May 2016

Pitmans today announced that Oliver Kelly (corporate) and Matt Heyworth (private client) will become partners as of 1 May 2016.

Commenting on this success, John Hutchinson, Managing Partner, said: “It is a fantastic and well-deserved achievement and I am delighted for them both. Ollie is already well known in the Southampton market and will make a great contribution to the future of the business across the Thames Valley, and I am confident that Matt will continue to strengthen our Family & Matrimonial department.”=

Kelly works in the corporate department in Southampton. He joined Pitmans in 2014 when the firm merged with Lamport Bassitt, where he trained.  Kelly has seven years’ post qualification experience and specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and general corporate and commercial matters.  He has particular experience in the travel, marine/transport, technology and retail sectors.

After graduating in Law from the University of Southampton and completing his LPC at the College of Law, Heyworth joined Pitmans LLP in 2009. He has quickly progressed through the ranks, becoming a Director in the firm in 2015, and subsequently being invited to join the partnership this year.

Heyworth specialises in all aspects of family law, including divorce, matrimonial finances, the preparation of pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and children matters. He also specialises in claims brought under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996. Heyworth has advised and represented clients in both the Family Court and the High Court. He commonly represents high net worth and high profile individuals. Heyworth was also formerly the Vice Chairman of the Thames Valley Family Law Society.
