Position
Partner and head of the sports and media and entertainment department. Head of IP in London. Jeremy specialises in intellectual property, sports, music, theatre, fashion and computer games. His clients include Ascot Racecourse, Clear Channel, England and Wales Cricket Board, Jockey Club Racehorses, Live Nation and Priscilla on Stage, among other promoters, agents, producers, rights holders, artists, athletes, designers, creatives, publishers and developers. Jeremy is fortunate to have a diverse and very exciting client base, which makes his work interesting and fulfilling. He is proud to be associated with his clients. He has had a desk at the main stadiums of some of the largest events ever held – including the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, Manchester Commonwealth Games, the Doha Asian Games and the Concert for Diana. As well as major sports and music events, Jeremy has acted as legal counsel on Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, which opened at the Palace Theatre in March 2009. He acted for Vodafone on its $150m Ferrari F1 Sponsorship and has acted on around $1bn of sponsorship deals by value.
Career
Trained at Simpson Curtis (now Pinsent Masons); qualified 1993. Private practice 1991-99 (including Pinsent Masons 1991-96, Garretts/Andersen Legal (Sydney) 1996-99); in-house 1999-2000 (SOCOG – the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games); private practice 2001; set up SK Sports and Entertainment in 2002; Pitmans SK Sports and Entertainment LLP created in November 2009.
