Position
Partner, main area of practice is defamation law; extensive experience acting both for claimants, including government ministers, MPs and sports and music personalities, and for defendants, including book, magazine and newspaper publishers and television companies. Has handled numerous defamation cases where jurisdiction has been an issue, including House of Lords decision in Berezovsky v Forbes. Regularly consulted to give pre-publication advice on libel, copyright and contempt issues for national and international publications. Recently concluded libel cases include the defence of proceedings brought against Danish professor Henrik Thomsen. Also acted for Boris Berezovsky when the Russian government twice sought his extradition from the UK.
