Penningtons supports Capital Careers 2010 event
Penningtons Solicitors LLP is delighted to be taking a leading role in Capital Careers 2010, an initiative organised by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry to increase careers awareness among young Londoners as part of its London Young Chamber programme.
The event is taking place at the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry conference suite at 33 Queen Street, London EC4, on 26 February and will be attended by approximately 300 students, aged between 12 and 14, from across the capital.
Penningtons is one of a range of employers - including BT, Kier London and the Chartered Surveyors Training Trust - who will deliver short taster sessions to demonstrate the practical aspects of work in their sectors. There will also be workshops on employability and general advice on job hunting in London and on how to present yourself in the workplace.
Laura Sylvester, a solicitor in Penningtons' clinical negligence team, and trainee, Peter Brooke, will deliver workshops on what it is like to work in the legal sector. Commenting on the event, Penningtons' Learning and Development Manager, Andrea Law, said: "We are delighted to be taking part in an initiative which is having a positive impact on young people who were previously sceptical about the opportunities available to them within the London workforce."
