Sherma specialises in all aspects of the law regarding children in both private and public children matters. This includes representing clients relating to contact, residence, and the involvement of Social Services. Sherma has experience and an understanding of working with clients with mental health issues.


Sherma has represented a number of clients in High Court proceedings relating to Child Abduction and Wardship proceedings. Sherma's work in this area of law consists of representing clients with recovering children or preventing the return of children to the jurisdiction of England and Wales who have been abducted. Her work in this field has included representation of a father in Child Abduction Proceedings that proceeded to the Court of Appeal in which the decision of the Judge in the first instance was successfully appealed (Re M (A Child) [2013])
and in the recently reported case of A, B, C and F (Children) [2015] EWHC 3663 (Fam)”
