Notable cases include: Pickfords Limited v Celestica (2003 Court of Appeal; contract dispute; analysis of counteroffer and revocation in contract); M Young Legal v Zahid (2008) (Court of Appeal; relevance of profit share to partnership); Lancore Services Limited v Barclays Bank Plc ([2008] EWHC 1264 (Ch); acting for a company in relation to their role as a payment services provider in the credit card payment system and the availability of an illegality defence to a merchant acquirer bank in that context; the claim involves complex issues of law, particularly with regard to restitutionary claims, unjust enrichment and penalty clauses; the case is seen as an important test case in the financial services industry).
