Partner and head of the personal injury department; specialist in complex personal injury and child abuse cases. Noteworthy cases include: GR v Wirral MBC Court of Appeal (child abuse limitations); New v MOD (first ever award of damages to serviceman for MOD’s failure to diagnose and treat PTSD); Father Hill cases (damages claims against Catholic church for abuse by priest, led to Nolan reforms of church child protection procedures); Budden v Police Aviation Services (helicopter accident, reported case on application of work equipment legislation when cause of accident unknown); numerous high-value catastrophic injury settlements.

Joined Pannone 1992; qualified 1994; partner 1998; head of personal injury department 2009 to date; head of serious injury division 2010. Has published widely: co-author (with Elizabeth-Anne Gumbel QC and Malcolm Johnson) of the book ‘Child Abuse Compensation Claims’ (Law Society Publications 2002, updated edition 2011); contributor to ‘Personal Injury: Law Practice & Precedents’ (APIL/Jordans 2006); has published numerous articles in legal journals.
