Position
Partner in clinical negligence department; handles all types of clinical negligence cases for claimants. Highest personal settlements £3.4m for a seven-year-old with cerebral palsy, 2002 and £3.25m for 19-year-old with cerebral palsy, 1999. Acted for Denise Hendry, wife of former Scotland football captain, Colin Hendry, achieving then-highest UK award in a cosmetic surgery case. Specific expertise in inquiry work; acted on behalf of more than 100 patients at Ashworth Hospital in the 1998 Fallon Inquiry, solicitor to the Royal Liverpool Children’s Inquiry which produced the ‘Alder Hey’ Report (organ retention) in January 2001 and solicitor to the Redfern Inquiry into tissue sampling in UK nuclear facilities which reported in November 2010.
