The team’s recent caseload includes advising Brookfield Energy Marketing on FERC proceedings related to asset acquisition and representing Wolverine Power Supply Cooperative in a revenue recovery settlement proceeding before the commission. Another highlight was counselling Dominion Virginia Power on a petition for review of FERC transmission cost allocation orders. The tax team is best known for its expertise in the energy and healthcare industries, and received a boost in financial services and renewable energy expertise in July 2017 through its merger with Chadbourne & Parke, which added 14 tax partners. Recent highlights include advising on the $400m merger of client Rosemore and Tema Oil and Gas Company, and representing the lenders in the $290m financing of Block Island Wind Farm, which is the first successful offshore wind project deal in the US. The ‘knowledgeable and responsive’ William Bowers in Dallas is recommended. Steve Kuntz in Houston and Michael Masri in New York are notable joiners from Chadbourne & Parke. Robert Phillpott and Ron Scharnberg moved to Baker Botts L.L.P.’ Houston office in February 2017.
