Position
Gillie is a partner and, since qualifying, has specialised in employment law for almost 30 years. She leads the firm’s employment and pensions practice in Norwich. Before joining Mills & Reeve, Gillie trained and worked in private practice in London for 11 years, and spent almost two years working as an in-house lawyer for a large global multimedia group, which gave her a valuable insight into the legal requirements of clients in the private sector. Gillie acts mainly for employers and has extensive experience of advising clients in many different sectors (not only listed and private companies but also those in education and health) on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including executive terminations; industrial relations; employment contracts; policies and procedures; the employment aspects of corporate transactions; corporate restructuring; business transfers; TUPE and the contracting out of services; collective redundancies; restrictive covenants and garden leave; discrimination; and the defence and settlement of complex Employment Tribunal proceedings. Gillie is recommended by ‘The Legal 500’, ‘Legal Experts’ and ‘Chambers and Partners’ as a leading employment lawyer, and has been recognised as a leader in her field in relevant directories for over ten years. She also regularly presents training courses on new legislation and other aspects of employment law for directors and senior managers.
