Andrew heads the employment team and has a wealth of experience of employment law issues, both in relation to contentious and non-contentious matters. He has particular experience in dealing with high-value senior executive severance claims and related breach of contract disputes. He has been involved in a number of high-profile NHS disciplinary enquiries concerning serious professional misconduct claims involving senior consultants. Andrew is equally comfortable dealing with compensation claims in the High Court or Employment Tribunal. He is a qualified mediator and brings these specialist skills to bear in ensuring that disputes are settles quickly and cost-effectively. Andrew is a nominated leader in his field in the latest edition of Chambers and The Legal 500 2008. Recent notable cases include: Devon Primary Care NHS Trust - representing the trust in the defence of a high-value whistle-blowing claim brought by an ex-senior nurse; Somerset Primary Care NHS Trust - advising the trust on the outsourcing of its entire drugs and alcohol abuse service to a national charitable organisation; GlobeOp Financial Services Group - GlobeOp is a London and US-based multinational company providing administrative and product support services to hedge funds and other high-value investments operations. The firm was instructed b its London-based senior counsel to seek immediate injunctive relief against two directors in relation to serious breaches of fiduciary duties, competing business activities and related breaches of the contract.
