Position

A popular choice for both the prosecution and the defence, Jennifer has developed a successful and strong criminal practice since she took tenancy at St Philips in 2000. She is a grade 4 prosecutor with a particular specialism in drug trafficking cases. She is regularly instructed as junior counsel to senior members of Chambers in complex and serious cases including murder, torture and drugs conspiracies. She is qualified to prosecute serious sex cases. Jennifer is counsel of choice for the West Midlands Probation Service in their complex legal arguments. She has represented Staffordshire CPS in a reported case of judicial review and has recently been instructed on a number of cases going to the Court of Appeal in respect of old sentences imposed under dangerousness provisions before the decision of R v Lang, the first of which has been successfully quashed. Jennifer has developed a good practice in regulatory work, predominantly dealing with private prosecutions both for and against local authorities. She has dealt with cases involving closure orders, ASBOs, TPOs, confiscation orders and general breaches of regulations in the Magistrates and Crown Courts, together with licensing work.
