Position
Partner dealing with commercial and corporate specialising in commercial, sports and IP. Regularly advises on sponsorship, agency, supply, distribution and IT agreements. Manages intellectual property portfolios, which include both contentious and non-contentious matters. Deals with asset/share purchases; drafting of shareholder, LLP agreements. Acts for clients such as the Premier League; Leeds United AFC; DFS; and a host of semi-professional and amateur football clubs. Lead commercial advisor to Yorkshire County Cricket Club and the Isthmian Football League Ltd. Litigation work includes contract disputes; defamation; media and entertainment and shareholder and partnership disputes. Also acted for the claimant in Proactive Sports Management Ltd v Wayne Rooney & ors [2010] EWHC 1807 (QB), a £5m contractual claim against the image rights companies of Wayne and Coleen Rooney.
