It acted as lenders’ local counsel, supporting Allen & Overy LLP, on the Barzan gas project joint venture; and advised a large Bahrain-based bank on restructuring of an established joint venture company. It also acted for the lenders on Almana Group’s five-year dollar-denominated floating rate sukuk offering. Managing partner Alaa Hamad leads the team.

Arab Law Bureau’s recent instructions include advising a global project management group in a claim against a Qatari developer concerning a large commercial and residential development in Doha, and representing the owners of one of Doha’s largest shopping malls in a QAR60m construction dispute. Other clients include various banks as well as state and quasi-state entities, which the firm represents in arbitrations in the construction and energy sectors.
