Position
Fiona is a partner in the firm’s insurance and reinsurance team. She advises insurers and brokers on a range of general insurance matters including coverage disputes, policy wordings, new products and claims. Fiona also acts for corporate policyholders in a wide range of coverage disputes including D&O. Fiona has over 20 years’ experience in handling claims against a wide range of professionals including accountants, architects, brokers, engineers, surveyors, solicitors and barristers and her expertise is recognised in ‘The Legal 500’. Fiona has a particular interest in the construction and IT sectors and often advises on insurance issues at the contract stage and in the event of a dispute. She also speaks regularly at seminars on matters of interest to insurance and corporate clients. Recent experience includes: successfully reaching a settlement at mediation for management shareholders in a claim against accountants arising out of tax advice; advising claimants in relation to a claim against a firm of architects (claim resolved at mediation); acting for insurers in a multi party dispute arising out of the collapse of a building; advising on coverage issues arising out of a large claim against pension trustees; advising a corporate policyholder on coverage issues under a business interruption policy.
