Position

Dr. Christoph Maurer is the Paris Office Head and Co-head of Corporate. He is a triple-qualified German Rechtsanwalt, English Solicitor and French Avocat.  Christoph has over two decades of prime transactional experience in the field of international corporate finance gained in Frankfurt, London and, since 2000, Paris. He has been involved in all aspects of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and group reorganisations. His deal background covers the manufacturing industry, in particular the automotive, telecommunications, energy and chemical sectors, as well as banks and financial services. In recent years, he has focused on private equity and venture capital investments throughout Europe. His clients include multinational corporations, banks, funds and other investors, whom he advises on a wide variety of corporate and finance transactions.  Christoph further has extensive expertise in antitrust matters, mainly merger control. He is also recognised as an expert on art law and advises particularly on restitution claims and export regulations of cultural goods. In his fields of expertise, Christoph is regularly retained as counsel or arbitrator in international arbitration proceedings.

A notable feature of the Brexit team is that it includes a public policy unit, which is led by Andrew Henderson, and assists clients with building a case for how they want Brexit to work for them, and how they can put this forward to key influencers. Robbie Owen leads the government affairs team, which includes Francis Tyrrell, and focuses on the process for Brexit-related legislation and its constitutional implications.
