Position

Jonathan is a partner specialising in restructuring. He has over 20 years’ experience advising on large corporate restructurings, rescues, recoveries, receiverships and administrations acting principally for major financial institutions and firms of accountants. He also acts for large corporates advising on recovery protection techniques and recoveries. He is very experienced in recovery strategies for banks and financial institutions and handles a large number of shareholder and partnership disputes. He has particular experience of construction, motor industry, retail and manufacturing companies. Profile cases include acting for: the Directors and Administrators of SCS plc on disposal of their subsidiary to Sun Capital; the directors of Heywood Williams Group plc on their restructure; the Administrators of Qualceram Shires PLC a dual listed UK and Irish plc; the Administrators of Empire Direct PLC; the directors of Ashwell Group Properties Plc on their restructure of facilities; and the trustees of the Motor Industry Pension Plan in relation to various schemes in deficit as well as several other major confidential restructures advising HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group and RBS. Jonathan has also advised the boards of several large PLCs and large corporates on their financial restructuring and negotiating with their banks and syndicates of banks. He is a Fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3); a trained Mediator and member of ADR Net; a Member of the Education Courses & Conferences Committee for R3 – the committee responsible for the national training of the profession; a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and actively involved in the Institute for Turnaround.
