Position

A technically-accomplished lawyer and problem-solver, Francis specialises in construction, infrastructure and projects, particularly those with complex, innovative or fast-moving aspects. His speciality is major projects.

He has substantial experience on ground-breaking schemes both in the UK and internationally (particularly Eastern Europe and MENA) and regularly advises on PPPs, hospitals, sports stadia, datacentres, Private Rented Sector (PRS), student accommodation, universities, skyscrapers, power projects and infrastructure using a wide range of procurement strategies. 

He has particular expertise in Building Information Modelling, sustainable development and renewable energy and sits on the Construction Industry Council's Green Construction Panel and the City of London Law Society's Construction Law Committee. Francis chairs the Chartered Institute of Building’s Contract & Procurement Special Interest Group.

Francis has led some of the largest projects in the world and is a seasoned public speaker and a legal columnist in the construction industry. 

Publications of note: Co-author of the Chartered Institute of Building’s Complex Projects Contract 2013 suite; Co-author of the Chartered Institute of Building’s Time and Cost Management Contract 2015 suite; Columnist for Building magazine and Estates Gazette magazine.
