Steven, the Firm's Principal Development Partner for Agricultural Business specialises in commercial property and taxation matters, and the development of the firm’s existing agriculture property and rural portfolio. Specialist in agricultural law and undertakes a wide range of legal work for substantial numbers of landed estates and large number of the working farmers.


Trained in the West Midlands; qualified 1981; general private practice until 1982; commercial property Telford Development Corporation 1982-86; commercial property National Wesminster Bank pic 1986-88; joined firm 1988; partner 1992; specialised in agricultural work since 1994.

Steven formerly acted as a Solicitor for the Crown Estate for many years and dealt with a broad range of commercial and agricultural transactions including sites of special historic and national interest. 

He became the first Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association in the West Midlands in 2009. His own particular specialist area of legal advice is property, tenancies and inheritance tax planning for farmers. He is an informal legal adviser to BBC Radio 4’s programme The Archers.
