Recent deals: purchase by Optos of Australian company Optos Global, by way of private offer (Nov 10); purchase by AAM of RBS’s fund of hedge fund business for c£85m institutional and, placing of £120m of AAM shares (Jan 2010); sale of Thornhill Holdings to Cazenove Capital Management (Dec 09); AAM’s £90m convertible bond issue (Dec 09); purchase by AAM of Credit Suisse’s global traditional fund management business for £250m in AAM shares (08-09); sale by Weir Group of Strachan and Henshaw division to Babcock for c£65m(April 08); and of Weir Pumps, Glasgow to Clyde Blowers for c£45m (May 07).
