Position
Partner specialising in IP, IT and technology disputes including large Court of Session litigations relating to patent, trade mark, copyright, passing off and confidential information disputes. Recent patent-related work has particularly focused on pharmaceutical, oil and gas sectors and branding-related work and has involved acting on behalf of global household names and luxury brands taking action against counterfeit goods and parallel imports. Considerable experience of using mediation and ADR to successfully resolve complex high value disputes quickly and commercially. Recent cases include FMC v Vetco Gray (patent infringement); Cameron v Vetco Gray (patent entitlement and confidential information); Bayer Cropscience KK v Charles River Laboratories and Albaugh (patent infringement); PRS v Kwik Fit (novel point on copyright infringement); William Forbes v Transport Scotland and SPT (copyright infringement) and Arrow Generics v Akzo Nobel (revocation of patents). IT work includes dealing with software/website development disputes, domain name disputes and on-line infringements.
