Position
Partner specialising in contentious construction and engineering work. Responsible for the reported cases of Strathmore v Greig 2000 SLT 815, Melville Dundas v George Wimpey [2007] BLR 257 and 2007 SC(HL) 116. Spiersbridge v Muir [2008] SCLR 362, and CSC Braehead Leisure v Laing O’Rourke Scotland [2008] SLT 697. The Melville Dundas case was the first case on the Housing, Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 to reach the House of Lords. Lead drafter of the CIArb’s Scottish Arbitration Code 2007, incorporated into standard form Scottish Building Contracts.
