Corporate partner, specialising in corporate and corporate finance work; led the team on the MBI of Phillips International Auctioneers and its subsequent sale to the LVMH group; led the team acting for Redwood group in the taking private of Clyde Blowers Plc, the first significant take private completed in Scotland in recent times with £61m of funding provided by 3i and the Bank of Scotland and acted for Bank of Scotland in relation to the funding of the £500m hostile and subsequently recommended bid for Sears Group Plc by January Investments Ltd; acted for the MBO team in the acquisition of Pelikan Hardcopy, a Swiss based multinational group of companies from their US parent NuCote which was in Chapter II insolvency, acted in the £60m sale of Inver House Distillers, the £84m sale of Stiell to McAlpine, the £80m sale of Ben Sherman to Oxford Industries and the £45m reverse takeover of Lightbody by Finsbury.
