Express Solicitors deals in claimant personal injury and claimant clinical negligence cases. It is particularly well known for high-value catastrophic cases, chronic pain syndrome cases and difficult liability cases.

The firm: The firm was founded in 2000 by James Maxey, working as a sole practitioner. Four months later he was joined by Robin Patey and together they started to grow the business, with a particular focus on claimant personal injury and claimant clinical negligence cases. By 2009 the firm had vastly increased the number of cases, and increased its staff to 42. In 2010, with 70 members of staff, a management board was introduced and a corporate structure implemented. Over the past seven years, Express has continued to grow. Now with 260 staff and turning over more than £16.46m, Express Solicitors is ready to take its next step in its projected growth.

As a forward-thinking professional organisation that fights for injured clients, Express has campaigned for the rights of injured clients by supporting Access 2 Justice. In the past 12 months, settlements won by the firm include a £1.075m settlement for serious head injury; a £550,00 settlement for multiple injuries suffered in an accident at work; a £1.9m paraplegic case; a £1.2m interim payment on a cerebral palsy case; and £175,000 and £675,000 chronic pain cases.

Express Solicitors has five staff members on the Law Society Specialist Personal Injury Panel, and also has Lexcel accreditation. It prides itself on offering an expert, personal service with straightforward legal advice to clients throughout England and Wales.
