Fiona is a Solicitor in the Corporate & Commercial team. She advises on commercial matters. With over 3 years’ experience in the tv industry, she specialises in legal and strategic business affairs advice. 

The focus of Fiona’s day-to-day work is general commercial advice for businesses. Her expertise includes: agency and distribution agreements, data protection (GDPR), and software and IT contracts. She recently advised a winter sports clothing company on their European commercial agency and distribution agreements, and drafted specialist advice on data protection for a finalist of the Amazon Growing Business award in 2016. Fiona advised the 2018 EstNet start-up award-winner, on specialist contracts for their AI services.

In media and entertainment, Fiona focuses on production agreements for the UK entertainment industry and development, production and distribution. While working in-house, she oversaw the commissioning agreement and production contracts for a Sky 1 tv comedy-drama and development agreements with Channel 4, BBC, and Sky. Since joining Capital in 2016, she has been involved in producing talent agreements for a unique football show produced by a leading creative media organisation, advising on an advertising campaign for a government sponsored agency promoting Wales within the UK and internationally and option deals with major US studios for a British film and distribution company's catalogue of British classics.

Fiona has given numerous talks on TV and film distribution to Universities and is a committee-member of the annual Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival Producers’ Forum.

Capital Law LLP has established a strong client base within the film and TV industries and regularly advises prominent clients including S4C and Handmade Films across a variety of commercial and IP work, as well as in relation to other legal issues including employment and corporate, should the need arise. Although as a trainee solicitor Fiona Peet is at a relatively junior level, the calibre of work and experience within the sector (she was formerly head of legal and business affairs at a Welsh independent TV production company) belie her years, to the extent that she leads on numerous matters including advising branding and content company, Smörgåsbord, on the talent agreement for Welsh actor Luke Evans' starring role in the Visit Wales campaign. Peet also recently assisted Tom Kelleher on his work for The  Football Show on the development of a bespoke production agreement it recently made with Zig Zag Productions. IP expert Wayne Beynon is also regularly engaged in media and entertainment-related work.
