Andrew Brown¬†has particular experience within the third-party funding sphere, and in a case which was funded through the firm‚Äôs own litigation fund, he is representing Deloitte, as the liquidator of DJ Litts, on its ¬£40m professional negligence claim against its former auditors for failing to detect and inform the innocent directors about a fraudulent ponzi scheme. Displaying a ‚Äėreal mastery of detail‚Äė, team head Stephen Meade¬†‚Äėconfidently handles complex litigation‚Äė for clients including the British Medical Association (BMA), which he is acting for in proceedings brought against the Secretary of State for Health for a declaration regarding the contractual effect of the Clinical Excellence Awards (CEA) scheme and the terms and conditions of service for consultants in England. Promoted to partner in November 2017, the ‚Äėextremely commercial'¬†Nicola Mead Batten¬†demonstrates ‚Äėobvious technical ability and a real capacity for lateral thinking‚Äė, particularly in relation to judicial review and public law matters. The team is rounded out at a partner level by the ‚Äėvery helpful'¬†Philip Jones, who excels at handling corporate and finance disputes, and IP litigator¬†Wayne Beynon.¬†¬†Other clients include Roadchef, Cardiff City Football Club and The Royal Mint.
