Position

Tim Tobin concentrates on consumer protection matters with a particular focus on privacy and data security law. He also counsels businesses on various Internet and e-commerce issues. Tim has extensive experience counseling and representing clients from all industry sectors for their privacy and data security obligations. He advises clients on a wide array of state and federal privacy laws and regulation.

Department head Latane Montague regularly represents leading automotive companies in safety and emissions matters and is experienced in Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) cases. Having advised the Railway Supply Institute (RSI) on changes to the hazardous material rail transportation regulations that pertain to the shipment of crude oil, ethanol, and other flammable liquids, the team is acting for RSI’s Committee on Tank Cars in relation to an extensive tank car modification program to comply with new regulatory requirements. Further, Montague and Adam Kushner are representing Hyundai Motor Group before the US Department of Justice and the US Environmental Protection Agency regarding its Clean Air Act settlement commitment to resolve allegations that Hyundai inflated its fuel economy estimates for its fleet of light‐duty vehicles sold in America. Elsewhere, Timothy Tobin is experienced in privacy, data security, and cybersecurity law and regularly advises on matters relating to connected cars; Ari Fitzgerald acts for automobile manufacturers on new and emerging communications products and services; and Joanne Rotondi focuses on regulatory compliance, litigation and environmental permitting.
