Position

Based in London as Global Co-Head of Hogan Lovell's Antitrust, Competition and Economic Regulation practice and with extensive experience of working in the Brussels competition environment, Suyong is one of only a handful of EU practitioners equally at home handling complex mergers and JVs, high stakes cartel and abuse of market power investigations, as well as the resulting appeals and damages litigation before the EU and national courts.

Suyong Kim and Angus Coulter  head the practice at Hogan Lovells International LLP , whose client roster includes Vodafone, Korean Air and Mars. The practice is particularly noted for its work in merger control activity in the media and entertainment sphere. Kim and Mark Jones have been representing News Corporation in the CMA Phase 2 merger investigation into the proposed takeover of Sky by 21st Century Fox, while Coulter has been advising Trinity Mirror on its intended acquisition of publishing assets of the Daily Express, Daily Star and OK! magazine among others. Jones also successfully handled the complex competition and public interest issues arising out of Hytera’s public takeover of Sepura, addressing national security concerns and obtaining a swift Phase 1 clearance. Susan Bright is noted for her experience in advising on antitrust investigations in the financial services sector and, while Ciara Kennedy-Loest  is strong for advice in the aerospace and defence, automotive and mobility and energy and natural resources sectors.
