Position

Tarek is a dual Libyan/New York qualified lawyer with a broad practice that covers general corporate and commercial matters (foreign direct investment, joint ventures, restructurings), project development, finance and dispute resolution. He works principally in the sovereign wealth, energy, infrastructure and telecommunications sectors, with a geographic focus mainly on Libya and North Africa, but also on Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa more generally.

In recent highlights, the team acted for investment funds, oversaw a number of existing nuclear projects and advised on high-profile energy from waste projects with the expertise of Scott Tindall.  On the financing side, Andrew Gallagher represented an African investment fund in its first debt funding transaction in the transport infrastructure sector of an African nation for the funding of capital works and improvements to several airports. Also notable is Adrian Walker who continues to lead the advice to the developer of a new nuclear project and assisted a major corporate with its bid to acquire rights to a major ongoing European interconnector project. Tarek Eltumi was also recently promoted to partner and Arun Velusami recently joined from Norton Rose Fulbright . Philip Brown and counsel Charles Ford are also notable contacts alongside practice head Philip Robb .
