John has been practising transactional real estate law at Hogan Lovells for nearly 20 years.

John has acted for a number of clients, whether investors, developers or occupiers, for many years. He trained at the firm and was made a partner in 2009.

He deals with all types of real estate transactions for all types of clients. This includes institutional investment, landlord and tenant, sales, purchases and portfolio management, and property development.

John has particular knowledge in outsourcing and leasehold liability deals and also advises on indirect property investments.

The team has particular expertise in the public sector and is instructed by major landowners such as British Land and The Crown Estate. In one stand-out matter, Victoria Sutcliffe¬†assisted British Land with the pre-let of a Regent‚Äôs Street premises to Dentsu Aegis Network, which was among the largest West End pre-lets in two decades. Additionally, the ‚Äėpersonable and pragmatic‚Äô Dion Panambalana¬†is acting for Calthorpe Estates in relation to a ¬£300m urban regeneration project in Birmingham. Also in the development space, Gill McGreevy¬†is advising the King‚Äôs Cross Central partnership on the ¬£2bn redevelopment of King‚Äôs Cross, and Daniel Norris¬†is acting for AFC Wimbledon in relation to the development of its new stadium in London Borough of Merton. Nicholas Roberts¬†has assisted various clients with HQ relocations to large-scale regeneration sites in Central London and the West End. Investment highlights included Norris assisting The Prudential Assurance Company with the ¬£300m+ sale of a South Bank property to Deutsche Asset Management, and global real estate head Jackie Newstead¬†advising William Pears Group on a portfolio acquisition of five conference centre hotels from Principal Hailey. Oliver Chamberlain¬†leads the luxury and fashion brands real estate subgroup, which advises clients such as Russell & Bromley. Also recommended are corporate real estate specialist Sian Owles, John Condliffe¬†and counsel Christopher Somorjay, who is instructed by a number of institutional investors.
