Position

Jeremy is a partner in the energy and infrastructure group, leads the energy trading group (advising widely on energy trading and sales), a co-leader of the energy and utilities sector and head of the project finance practice. Jeremy specialises in power related transactions, physical commodities transactions and commodities financings. Jeremy advises sponsors, lenders, borrowers, corporates and host governments on a wide range of UK and international project financings, privatisations and structured acquisitions in the energy sector. He has particular experience in the structuring of contractual arrangements relating to large-scale power plants and associated financing techniques, as well as the buying and selling of large-scale power plans. Transactions of significance have included advising: the lenders on the development of the Safi IPP in Morocco; the sponsors on the Eggborough IPP; the sponsors on the development of the Carrington CCGT IPP; the lenders on the Tihama IPP and on its expansion (Saudi Arabia); and the sponsors on the Egemer CCGT IPP. In addition Jeremy has advised on a number of commodity trading joint ventures including Morgan Stanley/Ineos, Calyon/EdF and RBS/Sempra.
