Work Highlights

Recent major cases include: major planning inquiries dealing with enforcement, housing land supply and neighbourhood planning; applications for Certificates of Lawfulness; judicial review and other high court challenges; development agreements, facilitating large scale regeneration; compulsory purchase order and compensation (Paradise Circus – Birmingham, acting for Millennium and Copthorne Hotels); town and village green and asset of community value applications. Since joining Lanyon Bowdler, David has continued to attract instructions from all over the country in relation to high profile planning cases, involving High Court Challenges and development related matters, as well as planning enforcement and numerous other issues, such as Certificates of Lawfulness.

David was shortlisted for the award ‘Solicitor of the Year’ in the Birmingham Law Society Awards in 2011.

He was also recognised as being amongst the Highest Rated Planning Solicitors in 2017, and placed at number 25 (equal) in the country in a recent independent survey of the profession.
