What do you see as the main points that differentiate ROSENTHAL law firm from your competitors?

ROSENTHAL is a boutique law firm that started its activity in 2015.

The ROSENTHAL team comprises multilingual lawyers who speak English, French, Latvian and Russian and are known for their detail-orientated minds, exactness, quality of work, and wide knowledge of working with international clients. Our lawyers have the skills to listen and structure, manage, and solve complicated legal cases, thus delivering progressive solutions to legal issues in an entirely professional manner, requiring minimal participation on the clients’ part, helping clients set aside their concerns about legal matters and letting them focus on other priorities.

ROSENTHAL’s motto is the Latin phrase Sub Rosa meaning "under the rose". This expression incorporates our lawyers’ most important values: confidentiality and trust. Our motto symbolizes our approach and philosophy in practicing law, and makes an emotional contact with clients.

What practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?

We have recently experienced sustainable growth in legal advice enquiries in relation to various IT developments and technology innovations, the establishment and operation of international companies’ support offices in Latvia dealing with customer support, the processing of financial, logistics and other matters, the posting of employees abroad, along with the structuring of valuable international businesses. Contemporary challenges for lawyers include the Internet as a major tool for international and borderless trade, electronic money and Internet banking, and the expansion of technologies in various economic fields. We believe that lawyer role is to overcome gaps in the legal framework and the absence of legal precedents, and to adapt to an evolving business environment where advanced and innovative legal structures are necessary to ensure clients’ success and competitiveness. We expect those legal practice areas to keep growing in the next 12 months.

Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?

The impact of technology in modern life is unmeasurable. Modern technologies provide us with advanced communication tools such as e-fax machines, e-mails, mobile phones, video conferencing, text messaging, social networks and platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn. ROSENTHAL uses modern technologies to maintain and strengthen relationships with our clients to make our services more accessible and convenient. ROSENTHAL uses special software to record performed tasks, manage workflow and monitor service quality. Use of technology improves our interaction with clients, eases and improves the efficiency of our work. We believe that the quality of work and efficiency are core elements of professional legal services.

Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?

We always aim to solve legal cases by putting clients’ needs first place, and to interpret law around those needs and not to adopt needs to legal frameworks or our assumptions of the solution. So it’s crucial to know our clients’ goals and needs so that we can provide useful advice that expands options and enables business goals. The essential aim of our professional activities is to provide added value services, and we make our best efforts to meet this quality standard. We have drafted multiple framework agreements for various industries (sales, banking and outsourcing). This is a good example of adding value to clients’ business. Sound framework agreements such as service provision to multiple customers, trade with goods and issuance of software licenses is a core element of success in attracting new customers and meeting existing needs.

Are clients looking for stability and strategic direction from their law firms – where do you see the firm in three years’ time?

Undoubtedly, clients seek stability and value communication that results in a long-term relationship. Clients highly appreciate a strategic direction and practical solutions from a trusted law firm. In three years we expect to have strengthened our reputation and recognition for providing quality services in our key legal areas, open-minded and professional legal advice, and our ability to structure and implement complex legal solutions locally and internationally.
