Work Department

Employment.

Position

David heads up the Employment team at Joelson and has over 25 years’ experience in advising both employers and senior level executives.

With a background in ground-breaking heavyweight litigation (including securing victory for the families of the Omagh bombing victims in their landmark civil action against the IRA), David now specialises exclusively in employment law. He was responsible for scoring an important victory for UK employers in the ground breaking Sunrise Brokers v Rodgers restrictive covenant injunction case.

Senior executives seek David’s help where they subject to investigations/disciplinary action (often with possible regulatory impact), where they need tactical advice on exiting (often involving negotiation of substantial value deferred elements) and where they want a review of the terms of a new employment offered to them.

Employers seek advice from David on drafting/negotiation of senior employment contracts, threatening and obtaining injunctions against departing employees and their new employers, tactics around senior exits and on conducting workplace investigations.
