Position
Andrew specialises in licensing premises for alcohol and entertainment. His clients include world renowned restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels, art galleries and museums such as Hakkasan, Gaucho, Busaba, Cuckoo, Tate, V&A, Firmdale Hotels and JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel. He has also licensed large events and has helped Live Nation organise the ‘garden party to make a difference” event at Clarence House for the ‘Start’ initiative launched by HRH the Prince of Wales. Where firms do not have a licensing department, they regularly ask Andrew to advise their clients on the best licensing strategy. He provides clear and precise commercial advice when advising on leases, agreement for leases and share purchase agreements. Last year Andrew worked hard to assist W Hotel obtain a new 24 hour licence and a new 2am licence for Hakkasan in Westminster. Andrew excels in negotiating with council officers, police and local residents and has helped resolve many licensing reviews and closure order applications.
Career
Trained at Jeffrey Green Russell, qualified in 2003 into the leisure and licensing department and promoted to partner at the start of 2011.
