Position
Partner – Sheffield corporate team (Insider Dealmakers Corporate Team of the Year 2009). All aspects of corporate finance and company law, advising companies, banks and financial institutions, entrepreneurs and management teams on corporate transactional matters. Advises on acquisitions, disposals, group restructurings, joint ventures, venture capital investments, management buy-outs. Recent deals include the acquisition by Hindustan Dorr-Oliver (listed Indian company) or Sheffield heavy engineering company Davy Markham Ltd from turnaround specialists Endless, and the MBO of international sportswear manufacturer Samurai International Sportswear.
Career
Trained Eversheds; qualified 1998. Trainee/corporate solicitor, Eversheds 1996 -2000; corporate solicitor – Hammonds – 2000-03; corporate solicitor/associate/partner – HLW Corporate Lawyers – 2003-07; partner Irwin Mitchell 2007 to date. Board Member of the Sheffield First Partnership – appointed 2010. Honorary Legal Advisor to the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry – appointed 2010.
