Position
Grahame Codd heads Irwin Mitchell’s North West presence as regional managing partner in the Manchester office. Grahame won the ‘Partner of the Year’ award at the inaugural 2010 Manchester Law Society Legal Awards dinner. Grahame also heads Irwin Mitchell’s national serious injury team which specialises in representing claimants who have suffered trauma involving brain, spinal, amputation or other serious injury. This national team offers specialist services from all eight UK offices, is one of the largest in the country and year on year consistently recovers over £100m in compensation for clients. Grahame is nationally recognised for leading the firm’s innovative work in establishing rehabilitation and case managed care support services for severely injured clients. This work has been recognised twice running by ‘The Lawyer’ in awarding the Client Care Award for the provision of a holistic approach towards improving the quality of life for disabled clients as the main object of litigation; also recognised three times by the ‘Post Magazine’ by their ‘Rehabilitation Initiative of the Year – Claimant Solicitor’ award. Grahame is nationally known for his technical expertise and represents APIL on the Ogden Working Party (responsible for the publication of actuarial tables for use by personal injury practitioners and insurers). He conceptualised and led the new approach to the calculation of improved multipliers for disabled clients, and lectures nationally on this subject.
