Dev is a Partner in Singapore. He previously practiced in our London office and he specialises in cross- border financing for the shipping sector, covering asset finance, project finance and corporate finance including financing for the LNG and offshore sectors.

His practice also has a strong focus on advising ship finance banks and owners in relation to complex restructuring work including standstill arrangements.

Dev advises an international portfolio of shipping financiers, including equity funds, as well as ship owners across Asia and Europe.

Dev also advises on the more commercial side of shipping matters such as chartering arrangements and sale and purchase transactions.

Highlight matters:

>Advising a Norwegian bank on four syndicated facilities in excess of US$1 billion including junior loans, amendments to swap arrangements, restructuring of the security package and complex inter-creditor issues.

>Advising a blue chip Greek ship owner on debt financing for its fleet. 

>Advising NORD LB on a work-out involving a number of facilities (both bilateral and syndicated) to a defaulting owner including enforcement of security and warehousing structures.

>Advising Nordea on the restructuring of three large syndicated facilities to the Eitzen group with complex inter-creditor issues.

>Advising United Arab Chemical Carriers on a cross-collateralised loan facility.

>Advising a consortium of Singapore based banks on loan facilities for the purpose of financing two LNG tankers.

>Advising a blue chip Greek ship owner on a super yacht charter contract.

Ince & Co's 'skilled' team provides 'prompt' advice. It works with its alliance firm Incisive Law LLC and its global network of offices to provide all-round expertise across contentious and transactional maritime matters. The international shipping team is led by managing partner John Simpson, who provides 'accurate' advice and handles dry shipping matters. Harry Hirst leads on admiralty work, acting for national and international clients such as shipowners, charterers, leading P&I Clubs and insurers and has handled a number of high-profile marine cases.  Devandran Karunakaran specialises in offshore energy matters and Nicholas Lum handles international trade issues and China-facing work.
