At Ince, 'the standard of service is excellent, clients are always kept informed and feedback is provided within a realistic time frame'. The firm has 'a wealth of experience in high-value commodities disputes', which are a core element of its work in London alongside shipping and insurance. Trade and energy specialist Will Marshall leads the practice and acts for many of the world's leading trading houses including Trafigura and Glencore. 'He manages a broad practice area but is still responsive to clients', remarks one client, while another describes him as 'an outstanding intellect - icy cold under fire'. He acted for Trafigura in a $12m High Court dispute with Renbrandt Limited concerning a contract for the sale and purchase of gasoil. The firm has a deep bench of talent that includes metals and mining practice head Ted Graham (who retired from his partnership on November 1st), structured finance specialist Jonathan Goldfarb and oil and gas trading expert Carl Walker. Senior associate and 'rising star' Ajay Ahluwalia</span specialises in trading disputes and relocated to London last year from the firm's office in China. The 'very attentive' contractor-focused oil and gas lawyers at Ince 'have an outstanding knowledge base of the industry and react quickly as the matters develop'. In recent highlights, the practice handled the sale and leaseback of an LNG carrier to Chinese state-owned shipping company COSCO on behalf of Golar, and Jonathan Goldfarb - assisted by Mona Patel and Stephen Jarvis  - provided cross-border counsel to longstanding Gaslog with regards to an SPA to acquire 20% shareholding in Gastrade. On the contentious front Chris Kidd continues to lead the advice to a drilling contractor in connection with a claim against a shipyard arising from the severely delayed construction of a deep water drilling rig due to the shipyward's alleged failure to deliver the vessel on time. Simon Hems heads the practice and is also a key name to note alongside Renaud Barbier-Emery and Matthew Stratton . Jeremy Farr , Clare Kempkens and Charles Lockwood joined K&L Gates LLP .
