He specialises in a wide variety of non-marine insurance and reinsurance work with emphasis on complex dispute resolution (litigation, arbitration and ADR) in the international and reinsurance markets, as well as non-contentious advice work and run-off solutions. Recent reported cases include Bonner v Cox [2005] EWCA Civ 1512, KCM v Coromin and Others and Swiss Re and Others [2006] EWCA Civ 5 and Coromin v Axa Re and Others [2007] EWHC 2818 (Comm).

Career: Trained Ince & Co; qualified 1995; partner 2002; regular contributor to a number of publications and conferences including the International Bar Association, British Insurance Law Association, Mealey’s Euroform and IQ on legal and market issues.

    1 What are the main statutes and regulations relating to employment? The main statutes relating to employment are the Portuguese Employment Code (approved by Law 7/2009 of 12 February 2009) and the Regulation of the Employment Code (Law 35/2004 of 29 July 2004) which is still in force notwithstanding the fact that parts have been revoked with the entry into force of the new Employment Code.
