Partner whose main areas of practice include: marine pollution, international legal affairs litigation and arbitration of marine insurance and charterparty disputes; involved in legal aspects of most major oil spills worldwide in recent years; wide experience of pollution claims and their ramifications in various aspects of maritime commerce; usually instructed by shipowners, insurers, oil companies and their respective industry bodies.

Articled Ince & Co; qualified 1980; partner Ince & Co 1986; titulary member of the CMI (Comité Maritime International) 1994; visiting lecturer on shipping law, City University Business School, London 1986-95; publications: general editor, ‘Liability for Damage to the Marine Environment’ (1993), co-author ‘Shipping and the Environment’ (2nd ed 2009); has presented papers at international conferences and seminars in many countries around the world.
