Position
Partner, insurance and reinsurance, and head of team specialising in defending professionals (particularly lawyers) and their insurers. Early years of career spent gaining experience across the full range of the firm’s practice, particularly maritime commercial work. Devoted much time to large-scale litigation, most notably a pipeline construction dispute, the recovery of oil spill clean-up costs and fraud in a south-east Asian country (acting for its government). Teaches; has given talks to delegations from Beijing and Shanghai concerning the creation of a compulsory insurance scheme; has delivered papers and conducted master classes at PIF conferences and contributed to the IIL publication on professional negligence. Now chairs the firm’s risk management committee.
