Career

Borja is double-qualified as Spanish lawyer (“Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid”) and as Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales (non-practising). He started his career at Deloitte in the Mergers and Acquisitions department, including a secondment at Dundas & Wilson (UK).

Subsequently, he worked at Baker & McKenzie in the M&A and Restructuring department. In both offices, Borja specialized in advising on investment processes and restructuring of groups of companies, both domestic and international.

Borja is currently Partner of Benow Partners and Head of its Corporate-M&A department, advising numerous national and international companies in relation to their investment/divestment processes in different jurisdictions, corporate restructurings and board secretarial duties.

Borja holds also the position of National Representative of Spain at the European Lawyers Association.

Law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Master in Corporate Law from IE Law School. Postgraduate in International and Comparative Business Law at the Bucerius Law School (Hamburg, Germany). Master in Common Law (European Lawyers Program) at the University of Edinburgh.
