Anita Cade is a partner in our intellectual property practice

Anita focuses on all areas of contentious and non-contentious IP and media law. Clients entrust Anita to advise them on IP matters from their inception through to development, licensing, commercialisation, enforcement and protection, and ultimate divestment. She assists clients in protecting and managing their IP, in dealing with IP in major commercial and infrastructure transactions, and acts for clients in enforcing their IP or defending IP challenges.

Anita has expertise in complex content licensing; advertising, marketing and sponsorship; production agreements; and technology commercialisation and supply arrangements. She has negotiated or advised on some of Australia's highest-profile sports and television properties, and advises on IP issues across a range of industries for a variety of clients.

On the enforcement and defence side, Anita regularly advises and acts in copyright, patent, designs, consumer protection and breach of confidence disputes.  One of Anita's recent cases – a large-scale copyright litigation for Commercial Radio Australia relating to music streaming – was described by The Australian newspaper as a "landmark victory" for the Australian radio industry.
